winter
So it has been a cold winter, regularly -20 F (about -18 C) in the boat shop. I thought I could get a bunch done this winter by doing small projects in my heated wood shop, including water tanks, rudders, cockpit benches for the gas tanks, etc. That has gone ok. Sort of got those as done as I can - except the rudders. The rudder shafts are getting some work done and have been at the machinist for maybe 3 months. So I also thought I could work in the boat doing non-gluing tasks such as sanding. I did try it.. but it is most uncomfortable at these temperatures. Fingers get cold despite winter gloves and eye protection fogs up - so I gave up that idea for warmer temps.
We have a storm moving in presently as the pic above shows. Imagine 1 deg. F and 30 mph wind. That's pretty damned cold. House is shaking currently so gusts are probably building. Anyway - it is supposed to bring some warm air tomorrow (up to freezing) and hold for a couple days before heading back down to the zero or below mark later in the next week.
